I found this out a few months ago, and I was surprised.

Transfering domains to someone after you sell it costs money to one of the two people.

GoDaddy allows you to transfer the domain to another GoDaddy account for free.

I think this is a very nice thing, that can be very helpful when selling domains.

Yep, its called a push. Most domain registrars offer domain pushing nowadays. What costs money is transferring to/from another registrar, but they generally credit you with a free years registration.

I would recommend using just about any domain registrar other than GoDaddy. They're terrible.
